Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

I just added a section to the website called the Archive. It’s a searchable database of photos where you can select your choices and save them in a “lightbox”. The first set of photos was from 03/16/2010 sunrise shoot of Mount Washington from Wildcat Ski Area.

New Mount Washington Panoramics

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

On March 16, 2010 I skinned up Wildcat to photograph the east side of Mount Washington before the spring thaw came. While it wasn’t a perfectly clear sunrise, there was some nice dawn light and alpenglow. Here are two panoramics I created from photos taken that morning. They both show the main features of Mount Washington’s east side; from left to right are the Gulf of Slides, Tuckerman Ravine, and Huntington Ravine.

Pre Sunrise:

Photo Details: 5 individual photos merged in Photoshop, Canon 5D on tripod w/ EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens @ 90mm, 1/40s @ f/4 and ISO 200.

Cannon Bolts

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Most rock climbers know to be cautious when climbing on Cannon Cliff, but this is underscored when you see loose talus with bolts in place. Taken in September of 2004, this photo shows some talus below Cannon Cliff in Franconia Notch, New Hampshire. The climbers are Jennifer Tennican and Will Mayo, we were heading up to climb some pitches for Jennifer’s film Benedictus.

Photo Details: Nikon F100 with 17-35mm f/2.8 AF-S lens and Fuji slide film.
