With over a foot of snow in the mountains and winds well over 100mph on Mount Washington, it seems like winter has finally arrived in NH. The above photo was taken on March 3, 2008. Diagonal

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

potd_200804182

Ryman McLane telemark skiing a steep gully near Tuckerman Ravine on Mount Washington. I’ve heard this gully called either Diagonal or Stovepipe and it’s located skier’s right of Dodge’s Drop. Whatever you want to call it, Diagonal or Stovepipe is steep and not often in good condition.

Photo Details: Canon 5D w/ 17-40mm f/4 L USM lens @ 17mm, 1/500s @ f/8 and ISO 100.
