Mount Washington Eastern Slope Sunrise Panorama

This view is of the eastern aspect of Mount Washington, New Hampshire at sunrise and was taken at approximately 7:00 AM on March 13, 2019 from the top of Wildcat D at 4062’. Geographic features visible include (roughly L to R) the Gulf of Slides, Boott Spur, Tuckerman Ravine, Mount Washington summit (6288'), Raymond Cataract, Sherburne Ski Trail, Tuckerman Ravine Trail, Huntington Ravine, the Auto Road, Mount Adams, and Mount Madison.

EQUIPMENT, SHOOTING, & PROCESSING

  • Canon 5D Mark III camera with Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens.
  • 30 individual photos shot @ 70mm on a tripod, f/5.6, 1/80s, ISO 160.
  • RAW files merged together using Photoshop.

PRINTS

As shown, the photo is a 1:4 ratio and can be printed at 12x48", for example. A ratio of 1:3 or even 1:2 is possible, but some terrain on the sides will need to be cropped.

Due to the very high resolution file size, the photo can easily be printed up to 24" high for a print size of 24x96", for example. Going larger to 40" high or a print size of 40x160" is also possible, depending on print type.
